Our company is made up of a great bunch of individuals who love what they do. That’s what makes DFI such a great company, and one that values each and every one of our clients. As some of the top professionals in the construction industry, the skills and experience our team brings to the table is what sets us apart from our competition.
Don has more than forty-two years of experience in all phases of commercial general contracting, including leadership and management, supervision, estimating and project scheduling. Don founded DFI in 1987 because he wanted to fill a gap in the industry, and he makes running the business a family affair.
"Being a father is my most favorite job."
So how does a father of two young boys balance a full service, fully staffed commercial/retail construction firm that owns and operates its own equipment and his family?
"I don't need a lot of sleep, I'm either working or spending time with my kids."
The boys play baseball, basketball and football. The boys enjoy going to job sites and learning everything from running equipment to running a successful organization. Don is very close to his own dad and often recalls advice and lessons he's learned from him,
"It was a lesson a minute with my dad.
His advice is usually the best."
Adam has over 15 years of experience in all phases of commercial and industrial construction projects. His strong leadership style provides him with a reputation for creative problem solving and team building.
"I enjoy getting up and going to the office or my job sites every day. What I enjoy most is winning new work, closing out projects with a satisfied client, making the impossible-possible, and developing new expansion opportunities for the business."
With his strong desire to make a positive impact in the profession and the community, Adam is a member of the Economic Development Commission of Florida's Space Coast, Melbourne Rotary Club, and the Enterprise Zone Development Agency for the City of Palm Bay. He is widely recognized as an emerging leader in the industry.
"Construction is in my blood — I love it. From the time I was very young, I can remember listening to my grandfather, my dad, and my uncle talking about their construction business and I could not wait to be a part of it. Construction is very satisfying work in that you actually get to see the fruits of your effort."
Building is in Tara's blood. So here she is, contributing to forging a future for Brevard County that is tangible and important to the people that live, work and play here. Her experience is based on doing whatever needs to be done and doing it now. When not behind her desk, she is with her family. They are an uncontented bunch that needs to explore and wonder at the world, so they do that as much as possible.
Chief Growth Officer
Randy is an accomplished Senior Executive and Board Member with more than 25 years of success across the non-profit, finance, energy, and technology industries. He has fulfilled roles ranging from Vice-President of Business Development, to Chief Operating Officer, President, and Chief Executive Officer. His broad areas of expertise include sustainability, energy conservation, financial services, fundraising, business development, and organizational leadership.
Kristin is a Marine Corps veteran who specialized in marketing and public affairs. She prides herself in her natural leadership skills and adept ability to overcome adversity. She constantly strives for self-growth and considers herself a master of organized chaos. With Kristin, there's no smoke and mirrors. What you see is what you get - and that's a highly motivated and passionate individual.
Concrete/Masonry - Division Manager
Dan can always be found with a smile on his face. A skilled project manager with a knack for attention to detail, he leads DFI's concrete and masonry division. As a member of numerous committees outside of work, he is most passionate about taking missions trips to Haiti. He says the best part is being able to influence young minds and watch them grow and prosper over the years.
There isn’t a job description for Meghan because she does it all. Guarantees your hotel gets built? Check. Reminds you to pick up your kids? Also check. There are no blank check boxes when it comes to Meghan, because she is a master time manager, a master of following through, and a master of prioritizing. Meghan is devoted not only to finishing quality projects, but is also devoted to improving environmental impact with common sense solutions. On the weekends you can find her reducing her carbon footprint and making memories last a lifetime.
Travis is the go-to for all things bridges. Inspired by the idea of pushing the limits of construction through new concepts, Travis quickly developed a deep passion for working with his hands. This resolve stuck with him, leading him to get his Associates degree in Construction Technology and Management. Over 12 years later, Travis leads DFI's bridge team and has helped construct more than 25 bridges across the U.S.
Charles has been with DFI for more than 15 years. He has a vast knowledge of all things design. Prior to coming to DFI, he worked in construction, so he's able to use his first-hand experience to produce effective and efficient solutions for any project. He has a passion for his 2014 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special and 1989 Sportster 883, is a road captain in the Space Coast Hog Chapter and collects poker chips from every dealership he passes. "Screw it, let's ride."
Civil Site Work- Division Manager
Garrett Vaeth was forged at DFI through diesel and dirt from a very early age. He started at the bottom as a common laborer, but showed initiative, talent, and that he had a mind for site development. Now he leads our site division to exponential growth year after year. With over two million tons of dirt under his belt, he is prepared for challenges of all shapes and sizes. While not at work, Garrett focuses on learning new skills to cultivate independence.
Greg has literally done it all. If you need something done right and done fast, Greg is your man. Not every superintendent can seamlessly shift gears to help lead through the chaos of multiple ongoing jobs like Greg can. He provides results, not excuses.
Lisa has been with DFI since 2004 and is an indispensable member of the team. Her knowledge and authoritative attitude are the stronghold of our financial department. For Lisa, there are three things that make life worth living - fishing, hiking and family.
Mike has been a registered architect since 1992 and certified general contractor since 2015. With a voice of reason and direction, Mike guides DFI's architectural efforts to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the field. Bringing his creative leadership and diverse knowledge to the team, he aims to directly impact and contribute to DFI's successes.
Often described as adaptable and amiable, Kacie came to DFI with the ambition to achieve more. She brings her years of experience and skills to the forefront in helping the organization to grow and succeed. We all take lessons with us from the mosaic of experience that is life & career. For Kacie, it's that in relationships, the little things are the big things.
Mike Vaeth is a dependable, intelligent problem solver. He is our lead safety manager and qualified MOT specialist. He claims the most powerful tool in construction is a single finger and who is to argue? With 20 years and counting under his belt at DFI, he is our most flexible leader, participating in all jobs regardless of the type. When not on the job, he tinkers in his shop and works on his house. He is also known for housing all the misfits in Brevard County.
Nick is a man of few words but much action. From regular maintenance to last-minute panic repairs to keep a job on schedule, he makes sure all of DFI's equipment is up and operating when the sun comes up each morning and the crews are ready to hit the ground running.
