DFI owns, maintains and operates the majority of light and heavy equipment used on site and during the construction process. Unlike most general contactors, DFI controls all aspects of the building process, using its own manpower and equipment, insuring timetables are met and costs are competitive. Ownership of most of the equipment needed to complete a project is costly but DFI's philosophy is based on the relentless pursuit of customer satisfaction and investment at this level insures the best product for the customer.

The Mansion of Melbourne, a more than 100 year old 9,248 square foot historical landmark facility transformed into a multifaceted food business by DFI, including a 300 seat restaurant and a 3,000 square foot second floor outside deck with panoramic views of the Indian River Lagoon. The Terrace is a place for entertainment, to have lunch or dinner and enjoy a cocktail at the horseshoe bar. The cellars, liquor, wine and beer emporium, an Italian deli and bakery were all developed using the DFI Design Build method, allowing for a flexible project flow, while maintaining the budget.
